I ended up in a small, warm bar the other night. They had a small nook in the wall, with a vinyl bench and table, which has been bestowed with the nickname ‘love booth’. I can see why.
Along the way, we found this wall painting. It says in Malay, ‘Mohon Doa Restu’, which translated roughly means… praying for a blessing. Feel free to correct me if you can think of something more accurate. It depicts a man, in a swimming cap and goggles, in the midst of a flood and burning buildings, his hands cupped for prayer. Asking to be saved. Something we could all relate to at one point or another.
Also: my (practically) miniature cup of morning coffee. Souvenir teaspoons, and goldenrod glass teacups and saucers. Grannyware needs a revival!
